NEXTing includes faithfully serving in your now with a confident expectation of the opportunities that await you, because you know and believe that God has plans for you. How are you managing your current season or station in life? Does your attitude regarding what is now align with what God says about His plan for your future?
As you faithfully steward continual heavenly deposits, you should know that your progress on your journey moves at the speed of trust. Do you recognize the heavenly deposits -- grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift]? Do you trust God to reveal His plan over time, from season to the NEXT, throughout your life’s journey?
Definitely — I do recognize those heavenly deposits. God’s been so faithful, pouring out grace after grace, even when I didn’t fully see it in the moment. Looking back, I can trace His hand through the blessings, the open doors, even the hard seasons that shaped me.
And yes, I’m learning to trust His timing. It’s not always easy, but I believe He reveals things little by little for a reason. Each season has its purpose, and He’s leading me through it all — growing me, stretching me, and showing me more of His heart along the way.
When your past isn’t properly processed and positioned, it is hard to visualize a better present and a brighter future. The vision that comes with NEXTing helps to move your past to where it needs to be --behind you! Are you carrying past failures, disappointments, and pain that could be blurring or blocking your vision of what’s NEXT?
Yes—this truly speaks to me. I’ve learned that when I don’t take the time to really process my past—especially the disappointments and heartbreaks—it starts to shape how I see myself and what I believe I deserve. There were seasons where I couldn’t even imagine something better because I was so tangled up in what had already happened. Though I’m still growing, l each step forward reminds me that I’m not stuck—I’m evolving.
NEXTing is an acquired skill. At one time or another, every person during their life’s journey loses momentum, plateaus, and feels stuck in the mud. When this happens, what do you do?
I am stilling waiting patiently for God to reveal his plan for my life. Through my heartache, pain, denial I have been listening for God to talk with me in some way. I was listening to a podcast Healed Girl Era" and Tasha Cobbs Leonard was a guest. The segment was entitled "Gifted While Grieving". Tasha was talking about the lost of her father and the one thing she said that touch my heart even in heartache was "Stay at the Feet of Jesus". When I heard that I realize I have to stay at His Feet to heal, even in my heartache, pain, and sadness. Even though I may not think I am ready for whatever is my NEXT, I realize that I do have a NEXT and I have to stay in readiness.
